Contributing to AHPA’s Botanical Authentication Wiki

The American Herbal Products Association thanks you for your interest in contributing to this landmark reference for botanical authentication information.

Contributing Information

If you have botanical authentication information and would like to provide it for site use, there are a couple of things to keep in mind:

First, you must either have the copyrights on the information you would like to contribute, or it must be public domain or out of copyright. By contributing information, you attest that this is the case.

Second, by contributing information, you authorize AHPA and the Botanical Authentication Wiki to use your contribution by posting it on line.

Contribution Types

Information can be contributed either to individual entries, or to many entries at once if you have a large batch of information on multiple herbals that you would like to contribute to the site at one time.

Contributions to Individual Entries

To best process an individual contribution, we have prepared several templates for use which shall make it easy for us to collect the pertinent information needed to allow posting.

For copies of the most current version of the templates, please contact Merle Zimmermann of AHPA staff.

The sample templates are self-documenting, with built in examples. Note that you may wish to include additional background information about reagents used in sample preparation for microscopy and HPTLC submissions. (Standardized methods and required reagents often differ slightly between laboratories and samples.) AHPA staff will follow up if necessary to clarify anything which may have been inadvertently omitted.

Batch Contributions

An alternative to individual contributions is making a batch contribution. These are possible with a collection of data which would be appropriate to add to multiple entries.

To contribute such a collection to the site, please contact Merle Zimmermann of AHPA staff to discuss details.

Batch contributions may be delivered both electronically via an online data service, or on computer media through the mail.
