Welcome and About AHPA's Botanical Authentication Wiki
Please sign in for access to the Camellia sinensis Botanical Authentication system.
The American Herbal Products Association is proud to present the AHPA Botanical Authentication Wiki to our beta-testing team.
The system is currently in private development mode; new subscriptions and user accounts are being provided by invitation only to contributing industry members and professionals who have expressed an interest in participating. Access will later be made more widely accessible as the site progresses.
The AHPA Botanical Authentication Wiki is a centralized source of information containing both examples and techniques which have been successfully applied to authenticate and qualify selected botanical materials. These techniques are provided as a service to the trade and to further the production of high quality botanical products.
Currently, the AHPA Botanical Authentication Wiki is adding entries for the most commonly traded and commercially used botanical ingredients. Other botanicals are planned to be added both under judgment of professional botanical analysts as well as through user requests.
Entries contain resources including:
- Botanical Microscopy References
- High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography Techniques
- Organoleptic Properties
- Discussion of Potential Adulterants
We appreciate your interest in this important project. If you have comments, would like to participate, or wish to have your contact information recorded for further news and announcements, please send us an email at ahpa@ahpa.org and you will hear from us promptly.
After you are signed in with your user credentials, you have several potential destinations:
The Botanical Category Listing has a list of the current botanicals in the database.
The Microscopy Category Listing or High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography Category Listing are also available if you're looking for something more specific.
